Kaneka Resins and Composite Materials

Kaneka is a global supplier of high-performance resins and composite materials. The company develops and manufactures resin formulations for composites based on epoxies, benzoxazines, bismaleimides, polyimides, and ceramic precursors. Resin systems are offered for all composite manufacturing processes including infusion (VARTM, RTM, RFI), filament winding, pultrusion, laminating, and prepreg.

Many of Kaneka products are based on epoxy technology and hybrids of epoxy resins with other chemistries to achieve the necessary balance of processing and properties (e.g. strength vs. toughness). Innovative technologies have been created to enable the development of the highest performance matrix resins from a range of proprietary toughening modifiers to a series of molecular fortifiers. Composite performance is enhanced through these matrices due to unique molecular, network design, and morphology control (single phase, multiphase, IPN, etc.). Kaneka products provide cost-effective solutions where high performance is critical.

The Kaneka line up of products include resins for the following processes:

    1. Wet Laminating (wet lay-up) and Compression Molding
    2. Filament Winding
    3. Pultrusion
    4. Infusion (Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) and Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding (VARTM))
    5. Adhesive bonding
